Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)

I have loved thee with an everlasting love:

therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

It's hard to believe that God loves us in our imperfections. How many times can we fail him before he gives up?

We fear this thought the most, that at some point, God won't love us anymore and that he will eventually walk away. The fear of losing God's love is real.

Humans have a natural tendency to walk away from things that cease to serve them. You may have experienced broken relational ties simply because of a difference in perspectives.

We take what we experience as humans and wrongfully attribute it to the character of God. We think because we falter and fall out with each other, that God is the same.

That's not true! God understands that we are imperfect, and I believe King David said it best.

David said in Psalms 103, "As a father has pity on his children, so the Lord has pity on his worshippers. For he has knowledge of our feeble frame; he sees we are only dust."

This point demonstrates the supremacy of God's Character. God knows we are only dust, and still, he loves us with everlasting love. How can God, who is perfect and holy, be so in love with someone like you and me?

God's word reminds us, in Isaiah 55:9, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

So when you're struggling in your faith and can't catch a break, remember God loves you even in your struggle.

I heard someone share a unique perspective about our struggles in faith. This person shared that the meaning behind Israel means to "wrestle with God."

God's chosen people were the Israelites, known as the people God chose to wrestle with. God is committed to struggling with you; isn't that amazing?

How much more does God need to do to prove his faithfulness? He gave his only son for us, a people so undeserving. He gave his Spirit to guide us because he knew we would still find a way to mess up.

We are well protected by the Father, with the insurance plan of his grace and mercy. Will you believe and accept his love in your struggles today?

Pray this prayer

Father,

I have been struggling lately. I ask that you forgive me of my faults and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Help me to walk with a consciousness of your presence, for I know that you are with me always. Be my strength when I am weak and lift me up where I continue to fall. I thank you for your grace that is sufficient, and I thank you for the blood of Jesus that covers my life. In Jesus's name, amen.
