Jeremiah 29:11 (BBE)

For I am conscious of my thoughts about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope at the end.

Am I good enough, am I doing enough, these are thoughts that have plagued my mind. It takes a lot of courage to keep going when you feel this way.

Why do we think these thoughts, and where do they come from? You and I might feel insecure at times, or we just might be our own worst critics.

The source of these thoughts, however, comes from a lie. Lies from the enemy that we've entertained for too long.

It is the circulation of these negative thoughts in our minds that keeps us from seeing ourselves as God does. So, what does God think about you and me?

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I am conscious of my thoughts about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope at the end."

God says his thoughts toward us are of peace and that he intends to give us hope. So, when you feel hopeless and can't seem to find peace in your mind, know that those thoughts are not of God.

The enemy desires to tear you down and to pull you off course. It is through building a wall of defense around your mind, with the scriptures, that you can fight off those thoughts.

King David said in Psalms 40, "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works...thy thoughts which are to us-ward, they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee...they are more than can be numbered."

You are a constant thought on God's mind. God is always thinking of how he intends to bless you, prosper you, and use you for his glory.

So how dare we entertain any more thoughts that go against what the word of God has said?

Build in your mind a sanctuary of godly thoughts. Allow your mind to meditate on the scriptures, and whatever lie comes to mind replace it with what the scriptures have said.

You are enough, you are doing enough, and God thinks the world of you.

Pray this prayer

Father,

I resist entertaining any more lies from the enemy. Your word says I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and that's what I believe. Sometimes, I do get overwhelmed in my mind. So, in those times God please hide me in your secret place. Set my feet upon a rock above my enemies. Lead me into your presence so that I can see myself just as you see me. I praise you for the many great thoughts you have toward me. In Jesus's name, amen.
